Juan M Perez: Ms McKinney has all the qualities that our nation needs in these turbulent times

As a long standing community activist in the Willimantic Connecticut community and as a former elected official who served as Selectmen of the town of Windham (Working Family Party / Green Party registered voter), I want to give my utmost support to the candidacy of Cynthia McKinney for President. I believe that Ms McKinney has all the qualities that our nation needs in these turbulent times. When much of the world do not view our nation as a democratic institution that respects international law, it is important to bring credibility and moral standing to the world.

As a Latino, I believe that none of the Democratic candidates represent my interests. I watched the Democratic Debate on Univision and witnessed the candidates expressing continuation of the immoral emargo against Cuba and issuing more threats to the Democratically elected government of Venezuela. It is time for a real change and for restoring the moral fabric the United States was known for. Vote for Cynthia McKinney in 2008.

Here are some new preliminary numbers on our progress through the end of March. Five states are have raised enough to qualify us so far: California, New York, Oregon, Illinois and Texas.

We also want to express our appreciation to the following states whose residents have already given $1,000 or more and are on their way towards that goal: *D.C. ($3.3k), *Florida ($1.6k), *Massachusettes ($1.7k), *Maine ($1k), *Michigan ($2.1k), *Minnesota ($3k), Oklahoma ($1k), *Washington ($2.7k) and Wisconsin ($1.6k). (Unaudited figures current through March 31st, 2008; * indicates change since last month).
